Charles’ journey in ministry and pastoral counseling was inspired by his father’s love and dedication as a pastor in New Jersey. His father’s leadership in the lives of broken people within the inner-city and rural communities was a model for ministry and counseling that inspires Charles to this day.
In 1996, Charles received his ordination as a pastor in the Missionary Baptist Church. In 2005, he was licensed as a Pastor in the Missionary Church Inc. (Western District) under the mentoring of David Imbach, founding pastor of International Missionary Church. Since then, Charles has served as a Youth Pastor, Senior Pastor, and Christian aid and relief worker in Africa, Latin America, and Eastern Europe (Children’s Hunger Fund, 2005-2010).
From 2015-2020, Charles served as a Hospital Chaplain at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital and UCLA Health-LA. In this role, he supported patients, families, and first responders navigating through trauma and grief with grace.
In 2021, Charles completed his Master of Divinity from the Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley, CA, and received extensive training in Biblical Counseling as well as Chaplaincy. Charles volunteers for local non-profits that offer mentorship to young men between 6-18 years old and counsels adults who struggle with addictions, homelessness, and family conflict.
As a counselor, Charles fosters an environment of understanding where clients are encouraged to express themselves openly. His empathetic approach facilitates self- discovery, enabling clients to find answers to life’s complex questions. In 2022 and 2023, Charles received further training in coaching through Vinia and is excited about how God has placed him to help others mainly through Spirit-led questions and listening.
